I've only lived in Dover, New Hampshire, since March, but it didn't take long for me to see how much this community shows up for one another and that's a huge reason why I love calling Dover home.

And Dover is showing its support for the next generation of athletes in a pretty delicious way.

Friday, October 9th, the Dover Athletic Foundation is teaming up with the new McDonald’s at 8 Grapevine Drive for a fundraiser benefiting Dover High School athletics. According to the Dover Athletic Foundation’s Facebook post, 20% of sales throughout the day will be donated to DAF NH.

And because there’s no school for Dover students on Friday, it’s a great opportunity for families, alumni and Green Wave fans to stop by, grab a bite and give back to the local sports community.

But this event is about more than raising money.

The fundraiser will also bring together current and former members of the Dover High School athletic community for “Coffee with Coaches.” Dover coaches, both past and present, are encouraged to stop by, giving them a chance to reconnect with former athletes and catch up with the people who have been part of Dover sports over the years.

If there's one thing I've learned since moving here is how much this community lifts each other up.

So, whether you’re a current Dover family, a former athlete, a longtime fan or simply someone who loves supporting local students, consider making a stop at the new McDonald’s Friday!

A breakfast sandwich, burger, fries or cup of coffee could help give back to the Dover athletic community and maybe even give you the chance to run into an old coach or familiar face along the way.
