One of the most celebrated chefs in the country is cooking right here in New Hampshire.

Dover chef Evan Hennessey was recently named the 2026 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Northeast, one of the highest honors in the culinary world. If you're not familiar with the James Beard Awards, they're often referred to as the "Oscars of the food industry."

The award recognizes outstanding chefs across the Northeast, and this year's winner calls Dover, New Hampshire home.

Hennessey is best known for his acclaimed restaurant Stages at One Washington, but many Seacoast residents may know him from his newest venture, Topolino.

I recently had the chance to eat at Topolino, and I can tell you firsthand, the food absolutely lived up to the hype.
