Pizza Hut in Concord and Dover, New Hampshire, Close

Well, it looks like New Hampshire is down two Pizza Hut spots.

USA Today reported in February that hundreds of the restaurant chain's locations would close in 2026, though at the time, it wasn't clear which places were on the chopping block.

As of August, for New Hampshire, Concord and Dover's Pizza Huts are no more.

Is Pizza Hut Closing in New Hampshire in 2026?

According to newspapers like The Concord Monitor, multiple social media posts, as well as calls to the locations, it's been confirmed that two Pizza Hut restaurants in New Hampshire have closed.

Both the Pizza Hut at 915 Central Avenue in Dover and the one at 148 Loudon Road in Concord closed on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

It's certainly a big change for these two spots, which have been around for decades.

Thankfully, Pizza Hut is not completely gone from the Granite State, as the website lists other locations in Bedford, Claremont, Greenland, Keene, Manchester, Merrimack, Nashua, Rochester, Salem, and Tilton.

Concord and Dover are still listed on the website as of August 25, but that will likely update to reflect the closings soon.

It's also worth noting that a closing announcement flyer for the Concord location (but not Dover) did have a message that read: "We hope to see you at our new location coming soon!"

No further details were listed, and after calling the Concord Pizza Hut number, a person from the call center would only indicate that the current location is closed.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Where Was the First Pizza Hut in New Hampshire?

You might be surprised to know that the first Pizza Hut in New England was actually in New Hampshire.

An obituary listed on Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium highlighted the story of New York native Gerald MacNeil, who, after his service in the Air Force, got married in 1966 and then moved to "the Manchester, New Hampshire, area to start the first Pizza Hut franchise in New England."

According to the obituary, MacNeil's first Pizza Hut opened on Second Street in Manchester in 1967, and he would later open more locations in New England over the following years.

Does anyone remember Pizza Hut during its early years?

I can recall being younger and hitting up the classic Pizza Hut locations in the '90s with its iconic red roof, grabbing slices at the lunch buffet, the clunking of those plastic red cups, the pitchers of soda, and the free personal pan pizza for reading a bunch of books!

It's hard not to look at the Concord and Dover closures and think about how much the restaurant landscape has changed.

To go back in time for a moment...

While the Concord and Dover closures, among the many other Pizza Hut spots across the country, feel like the end of an era, the pizza chain is by no means gone.

There are still plenty of them where you can enjoy a slice and hold onto those nostalgic feelings a bit longer. Hopefully, that's the case for a good while.
