Ever since the Burger King Dover, NH location has shut down, we have wondered what is happening with that property. Now, we have an idea and we have opinions.

A four story, extended stay, 94 room Marriott hotel has received "conditional approval," according to Redpostrealty.  Think business travelers who need to stay for maybe two or three weeks at a time.  If you are moving and you need a temporary place for a month, this might be the place that you stay for a bit.

The site is right off the highway, but would it create more traffic in that part of Central Avenue?

Here's What People Are Saying Online About the Hotel

Paul said on the "What's Happening (in or to) Dover NH Facebook page," that area will become even more congested at the beginning and the end of the school day since the Dover middle and High Schools are just up the road a piece.

Rob says on the same page:

I don’t love the idea but I don’t think a hotel really creates that much traffic. Really, what could possibly go there that would create less traffic? If traffic is what you’re worried about this is probably a best case scenario. Likely other options are another fast food type place which will generate a hell of a lot more in and out traffic than this hotel.

Other people said that the architecture of the buildings would be unattractive, there will be more accidents, we won't have any more trees left in Dover, etc.

That particular Burger King used to be very busy.  I remember when my son and I lived at Dunn's Bridge apartments, we *sometimes* would sneak over to Burger King for Whopper, Jr's and those onion rings.  (yum!)  The intersection where that is located was a little funky to maneuver.  Maybe the developers have a plan for that?

What do you think about all this?  I'd love to hear from you. sarah.sullivan@townsquaremedia.com
