Drivers Still Roaming NH With Mounds of Snow on Their Vehicles
3 storms within a week mean NH Troopers are ramping up Jessica's Law patrols.
Let's look back at the last few days. Think of how many times you've had to remove snow from your steps. Being a solid citizen, you've also shoveled out the mailbox, and of course, brushed ALL the snow off your vehicle. You're still doing this, despite being completely over winter, right?
Newsflash: Not everyone passed the test.
According to their Facebook page, New Hampshire State Police had a very busy Sunday, where Troop F in the North Country made contact with 52 vehicles for numerous traffic violations including speed, Jessica's Law, and the move over law.
Especially with ice mixing in, it's extremely important to brush off all the snow from your vehicle, and it's the law. According to New Hampshire State Police, a vehicle driven negligently, as defined in RSA 626:2, II(d), or in a manner that endangers or is likely to endanger any person or property shall be guilty of a violation and shall be fined not less than $250 nor more than $500 for a first offense and not less than $500 nor more than $1,000 for a second or subsequent offense.
All told, take the extra 3 minutes to clean off your car. Also, there's more snow in the forecast. Who's ready for Spring?
