Earth Eagle Is Closing Its Original Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Location After 14 Years

More than a decade after Earth Eagle Brewings debuted in New Hampshire, the original Portsmouth location, which became Earth Eagle Tavern earlier this year, is set to close for good.

In a Facebook post, Earth Eagle Tavern reflected on its long journey and the memories, along with the news that it would close the last weekend of September.

The one silver lining? The Somersworth location isn't going anywhere. So, while it's the end of an era in Portsmouth, the legacy of Earth Eagle will continue to soar about a half-hour away.

When Does Earth Eagle Tavern in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Close?

Earth Eagle Tavern shared on Tuesday, September 15, that its final day open would be on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

That means there are 12 days left to visit the Portsmouth location for some sliders, hot subs, and cold drinks while relaxing in the beer garden.

It's lucky that people are even getting a chance to come one last time to the spot. So often, a restaurant closes, and people find out after the fact, never getting the chance for a final goodbye.

Where Is Earth Eagle North in Somersworth, New Hampshire?

While one tavern closes, another remains.

Earth Eagle North, which opened in 2021, is located at Barclay Square, 350 Route 108, in Somersworth.

You can get a variety of craft brews there, and its website highlights a menu that features loaded hot dogs, grilled panini sandwiches, and house-made chili. And street tacos are the newest 2026 food offering.

Sounds delicious, and a pretty good way to still have a taste of Earth Eagle Tavern once it closes.

Earth Eagle's Portsmouth journey has definitely had its twists and turns.

It began as Earth Eagle Brewing in 2012, became a popular destination for craft beer and food over the years before it unfortunately closed in 2024. Then it got a second chance with its reopening in 2025, and in early 2026, it shifted away from brewing to its rebranded Earth Eagle Tavern.

And that brings us to now, with the sad news that the end is near.

So, here's to the memories and the good times that came with it. And here's to the new chapter and continued story of Earth Eagle in Somersworth. Cheers.
