ICYMI: Female Chef From Maine is Ready for Her Close-Up on the Food Network

According to News Center Maine, Red's Eats in Wicasset, Maine, isn't just a lobster roll joint, its an experience! Any day during the on-season, you will see a line that stretches all the way around the corner, and for good reason! It has been called the ONLY place to get lobster roll in Maine. Now that's a bold statement!

The article goes on to say that Shannon Brown started working in the kitchen at Reds at the age of 14. Over the past 25 years, she worked her way up the ranks, and now holds the proud title of Executive Chef. HEY GIRL!

All of Shannon's hard work continues to pay off, and now she is getting the chance to showcase her skills on a national stage. That's right folks, Shannon will be representing Red's and the state of Maine when she competes in the very popular Food Network show Alex vs America.

I've never watched the show, but the premise sounds really cool, and dare I say cutthroat!

Fifteen chefs from all over the country attempt to take down Iron Chef Alex. She goes up against three chefs in two rounds of cooking, and anyone, even Alex, can be sent home after a blind tasting by the judges! Now that's something you don't see every day.

At the end of August, Shannon flew to the other side of the country to sunny Los Angeles for filming! It has not been announced when the episode will air, but we will keep you posted every step of the way.
