Food Network’s Best Brunch Spot In New Hampshire Forced To Close
In my opinion, there are never enough local breakfast joints in any community. However, let's talk about another level of breakfast and lunch, yes, I'm talking about the weekend brunch.
As much as we all love to make a big breakfasts, especially on the weekends, sometimes it's more fun to go to a fabulous brunch.
The problem is there aren't that many brunches around hometown USA anymore, except in fancy, overpriced restaurants or hotels.
The Food Network has identified the best brunch in each state, and there's one in New Hampshire you may or may not be aware of. However, there's good news and bad news around this cafe.
The Local Moose Cafe was known to locals as the best breakfast and lunch and brunch in the Manchester area. This was justified when the Food Network named the small cafe as the best place for brunch in New Hampshire.
The owners also owned Eighty Eight Coffee, which is the name the Local Moose eventually took, offering a brisk business of coffee, breakfast and lunch, much like the Local Moose.
This family-owned small business brought many to Manchester for the coffee and the food, and rightfully so. The Tong and Lee families have owned the properties for decades, and have run a successful business, but the city of Manchester is about to take the property by eminent domain for the Cemetary Brook Drain Tunnel Project.
The Food Network called out The Local Moose for it's fabulous Free Ranger Egg Sandwich, with Vermont cheddar and home-made brioche bun. The restaurant had variations of this sandwich depending on the day., like the Apple Free Ranger, the Kale Free Ranger, and the Butternut Squash Free Ranger.
In addition, the former Local Moose, now Eighty Eight Coffee Company, made killer donuts. It's too bad they will soon shut their doors.
The combination of local coffee and unique donuts made it a popular spot for local college students too.
