Former Patriots QB Hoping To Jump-start Career Using Tom Brady’s Guru
Summer school is in full session, even for former New England Patriots quarterbacks.
This week, temps are going to crawl into the 90's again, so it feels like a football story could be a little relief. Even though training camp doesn't start for a few weeks, former New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has enlisted Tom House to help a career that has had a few hiccups since leaving cushy New England.
House owns a quarterback academy in Huntington Beach called 3DQB where he helps passers refine their throwing mechanics. You can count Tom Brady on his list of students, as well as Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Carson Palmer. Jimmy G played only three games all last season before tearing his ACL and has just 10 career starts in five NFL seasons. He told Boston.com “We’re trying to implement drills as close to game-like situations as you could get to.” “At the same time, we’re sticking to mechanics and the basics. That’s what quarterbacking comes down to. You have to be really good with the basics and do them over and over again."
After a hot start in San Fran, he earned a five-year, $137.5 million contract to stay off the free-agent market in 2017.
