Franklin, NH, Police Posted a Warning About Seemingly Harmless Pot-Laced Wonka Bars
I, like so many other humans on planet earth, love the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". The old one with Gene Wilder, OBVI! I really didn't appreciate the creepy reboot with Johnny Depp from 2005. Some things are just better left untouched. So if I saw a candy bar that resembled a Wonka Bar, I would be as excited as a kid in a candy store. I'd tear it open in hopes of finding a Golden Ticket inside. Then I would scarf down the chocolatey goodness square by square, I wouldn't even notice the little pot leaf on the wrapper until it was all in my belly. Then I would have a really weird next few hours or potentially day.
The Franklin, New Hampshire, Police Department confiscated a bunch of these Wacky Tobacky Wonka Bars from a party/gathering over the weekend and issued this warning on their Facebook page:
"WARNING! last night, the Franklin Police Department confiscated the following items at a party/gathering involving several minors. One of the minors ingested enough to require medical attention. As harmless as these may look, that is not the case. Parents, please be on the lookout for these items or ones similar."
The post blew up with shares and comments. A lot of people are confused by the wording of the post. As far as we know, it is not possible to overdose on
marijuana whether it is smoked or ingested. So why was medical attention needed? Perhaps the minor had other substances in his/her system?
Either way, the Franklin Police department wants parents to be aware that these Wonka Bars are out on the streets and they are a little more than just a chocolatey treat. Oh, and they make gummies too.
