There Are Only 2 Friendly’s Locations Left in New Hampshire
There are only two Friendly's restaurants left in New Hampshire today... one in Merrimack and one in Concord, but for so many of us, they represent decades of memories.
For me, Friendly's isn't just another restaurant. It's a huge part of my childhood. It was where family dinners turned into ice cream sundaes, where celebrations almost always ended with a Fribble, and where I eventually landed one of my first jobs.
At 17 years old, I worked on the ice cream fountain, learning how to make sundaes, shakes, and dishing out plenty of smiles.

Friendly's story began back in 1935 when brothers Prestley and Curtis Blake opened a small ice cream shop in Springfield, Massachusetts. They called it "Friendly" because they wanted it to be a welcoming place where families could enjoy together. More than 90 years later, that same spirit of bringing families together over good food and ice cream still lives on.
While many Friendly's locations have disappeared over the years, the Merrimack and Concord restaurants in New Hampshire continue serving breakfast, burgers, super melts, and, of course, those iconic ice cream sundaes that generations have grown up loving.
Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but I hope these two Granite State locations stick around for a long time. After all, some places aren't just restaurants... they're where childhood memories are made, first jobs begin, and family traditions live on.
