Our listener Jeanelle sent us a message on the WOKQ app, and it said:

"Kira and Logan: I listen to you guys every morning and all day long while working. I rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and  I thought you guys would get a kick out of my newest rescue! Ruger is a Luke Combs fan. Whenever you play a Luke Combs song he sings his little heart out. He will only sing along to Luke Combs which makes it that much funnier because I've always been a huge Luke Combs fan"

Meet Ruger, a year-and-a-half old American Rottweiler.

Jeanelle got him in August. He was tied to a tree with a pinch collar and left in Massachusetts. He was very underweight at 70 pounds, when he should have been between 95 and 110 pounds. After spending some time with this good boy, she couldn't help but decide to keep him as a member of her family. They are kindred spirits, after all.

Here he is with one of her other dogs:

Jeanelle told us she is a diehard Luke Combs fan, so much so that she has "Beer Never Broke My Heart" as her ringtone. The first time Ruger heard it, he started to get kind of antsy like he wanted to party. Then another time, the song came on the radio in the car, and he started singing along. Later, Jeanelle went home to test the theory, so she put on a Morgan Wallen to see if he would sing along. No reaction. But when she put on Luke, sure enough, he started singing his heart out again.

Here is a video of said experiment:

Needless to say, he was definitely meant to stay and be a part of Jeanelle's pack. He went from having no manners and trust issues (her words, not mine!) to a country-loving goofy boy with a great life!
