I like the idea of a gender reveal party, I really do! It is so exciting to find out the sex of your baby while you are surrounded by the people who love you the most! But what happened to simply cutting into a cake and seeing if the frosting is pink or blue? When did explosives get involved?  Remember the gender reveal party that resulted in a California wildfire a few months back?  I get we are going for theatrics but it hardly seems worth it.

According to WMUR, this past Tuesday there was another gender reveal party snafu when a massive explosion shook homes in and around Kingston, New Hampshire. The noise came from Torromeo Industries on Dorre Road. The article said neighbors are used to hearing loud noises from the business however this happened at seven in the evening. It was reportedly louder than any other blasts they have experienced.

Kingston police are investigating and believe the explosion was 80 pounds of Tannerite which is a legal explosive. WMUR reports that the explosion was so powerful it knocked pictures off walls in homes and even left some home with cracks in their foundation.

Sargent Jeff Dade said that when Tannerite is used improperly it can damage property, cause fires, and be extremely dangerous. The site states this investigation is ongoing and the person who purchased the Tannerite could be charged.
