Get Lost at This Corn Maze on the Maine and New Hampshire Border
In 2023, The Maize At Sherman Farm celebrates 17 years of bringing families together.
This large maze is set on a 12-acre corn field.
In the past, the maze was professionally designed. This year, however, they are doing things a little bit differently.
According to the maze's website, this year, they made the decision to allow the maze to be designed by local middle schoolers. The 2023 maze was designed by kids from Maine Environmental Science Academy at Molly Ockett Middle School in Fryeburg.
The post about the maze says, in part:
Explore an intricate labyrinth of corn designed to confound even those with the best sense of direction. Inside the Maize, you can play Farm Scene Treasure Hunt and Cornundrums (corny riddles to solve). Answer questions along the way; the correct answer is your passport, sending you off in the right direction! There are three phases in the Maize, one for every ability.
The design of the maze was revealed on September 4:
More than just a maze, the attraction normally also features a bounce pillow, a petting zoo, hayrides to the pumpkin patch, the moo express, the harvest hoops basketball game, roller bowler, giant jenga, and more.
You really can spend an entire afternoon at the maze.
They also serve up some amazing concessions, including the best fresh cider donuts you will ever have.
And, since it is located at Sherman Farm, you need to check out their farm stand while you are there. They've got fresh vegetables, locally raised meats, and more.
This year's maze opens on Saturday, September 23 and runs through October 29.
