Goats Get Lost in Massachusetts Town While Mowing Lawn
Goats wander if not penned in. That's a fact. But when the goats are simply doing their job (eating everything green in sight), it's not their fault if they get lost.
All animals can get spooked, so when the goats of Goats To Go in Georgetown, Massachusetts were commissioned to each brush and poison ivy at a home in Lynnfield, it should've been an easy project.
However, what happened was far from normal.
While the goats were chowing down some delicious ivy, some unattended dogs came around and chased them. The electric fence holding the goats in the area were not enough to contain the spooked animals, who scattered into the woods and neighborhood.

If this sounds atypical, you are correct. The goat owners received a call that night about the situation, rushed back to the scene, and searched with some neighbors for the 15 goats.
Eventually, 13 goats were coaxed back into the goat mobile (mobile trailer), but two were still at large.
The Lynnfield Police contacted Goats To Go the next day, saying that they found the last two goats but were unable to apprehend them.
Here's where the twist comes in. The last two goats were wandering the neighborhood , going from a backyard to a front yard, then into a garage. The garage door happened to be closing as all of this went down, trapping the last goat in the garage. All 15 goats were rescued and are now home.
It's a crazy adventure, but a good story to tell for the town of Lynnfield, as well as Goats To Go. The business does an incredible job keeping the goats healthy and using them for a positive effect on the environment.
Next time you need an area cleared, call Goats To Go. They also offer goat yoga, hikes, and other wonderful programs.
