When it comes to the craft beer scene in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, there are three power player breweries that I like to call the trifecta. They are Loaded Question, Liars Bench, and Great Rhythm. When craft beer enthusiasts come to our great city for bar/brewery hopping, those are the three breweries on most people's "to try" list.

Great Rhythm, a proud member of the trifecta, took to their social media the other day to share with their loyal followers that they are closing their taproom on Bartlett Street in Portsmouth.

This location is one I hold near and dear to my heart. During Covid when we were all so tired of looking at our own living rooms, it was so nice to go hang out in theirs or on the waterside patio (when weather permitted). I always met the nicest people in that taproom and would have the best conversations with friends and family after a few Big Squeeze IPAs.

Why is the Bartlett Street location of Great Rhythm Brewing Company closing?

The reason is because the building is going under redevelopment.

Is this the end of Great Rhythm Brewing Company as we know it?

No way! This is not farewell for good, it is see you later. They have been working diligently on their brand new location on West Road in Portsmouth and they are hoping to have brewing operations up and running very soon.

The news comes as a bit of a shock to craft beer lovers far and wide. If you want to have one last pint at their Bartlett Street location they are still serving up some of your favorite Great Rhythm beers until Sunday, January 19th.
