The list of Grammy and jazz awards is endless, and so is the list of European cities on Herbie Hancock's 2022 Tour.

However, Hancock has one important stop before jetting off to France.

Herbie is playing four shows at Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club in Portsmouth, NH, this week, but there's one instrument missing at Jimmy's that Hancock requires for his performance.

That instrument is his very own Italian-made Fazioli F278 Grand Piano.

Herbie brings this baby, well, not a baby, but a grand piano, with him for every show.  So, when the crate arrived on Market Street in Portsmouth and the street blocked off by police, people took notice.

With a large crane, the workers/piano movers hoisted up the delicate Italian masterpiece high over Market Street, and lifted it up to the second floor window.

It seems crazy, but this is the best way to move a piano, and you must be an expert to even attempt this precarious situation.

With piano movers on the street, in the crane, and on the second floor directing the crane operator through the window, the instrument was slowly hoisted to the window and lined into place. It was a tight space, but the master workers pulled it through the window ever so gently.

Look at that!  And now it's in place and ready for the shows, and for the winner of 14  Grammy's to play it.  Thanks for coming to Portsmouth, Mr. Hancock. Play on.
