Hilaria Baldwin’s Real Name is Hilary and She Hails from New England
I realize there are more important things going on in the world right now but sometimes I like to dive into mindless celebrity gossip! For some reason I find it soothing. Maybe it's because these people who are so seemingly glamorous and perfect are in fact just human beings after all.
Maybe you have heard Alec Baldwin's wife's name in the news lately and are wondering why we are supposed to suddenly care about her. If you've ever heard Hilaria speak, you'll notice she has a very thick Spanish accent. Think "Gloria Pritchett" in Modern Family. Recently her actor husband said on a podcast that Hilaria didn't move to the U.S until she was 19. The truth has come out that Hilaria was born in Boston with the name Hilary. So she is actually a basic white girl.
According to CNN several people have come forward claiming they went to high school with Hilaria in Boston and she had no accent whatsoever. One woman said "She was perfectly nice and serious about ballroom dancing. Her name was indeed Hillary Hayward-Thomas and she did not have her current accent." That's when the the Today Show clip started to circulate. The one where she seems to forget the English word for "cucumber".
Certainly a girl who was born and raised in Boston would know the word "cucumber".
Hilaria claims that she spent a lot of time in Spain visiting family in Madrid and they called her "Hilaria". But why would Alec Baldwin claim that Hilaria didn't come to this country until she was 19? Does he really not know where his own wife is from? Or is it just an example of someone trying to come off a little more exotic than they actually are? Either scenario is amusing if you ask me.
