Ice Cross Downhill Skates Into Fenway Park This Winter
Fenway Park isn't just for baseball anymore. Or hockey. Or football. Or concerts. Suddenly, the venerable ballpark is the epicenter for the world's fastest sport on skates. Get ready for Ice Cross Downhill.
According to their website, Red Bull Crashed Ice features "some of the best and toughest skaters in the world." Skaters will line up shoulder-to-shoulder, and race down a massive 2,000 foot ice track packed with drops, hairpin turns, and gaps. Skaters reach speeds up to 50 mph, while fighting it out for victory.
The very first race took place in 2001. Since then, Ice Cross Downhill has evolved into one of the most exciting winter sports, featuring athletes from 25 different countries from around the world.
The event comes to Fenway Park in Boston on February 8 and 9, 2019. Tickets go on sale September 19, 2018 at noon.
