If You’re Sick, These Are New Hampshire’s Best Hospitals

A report by U.S. News and World Report brought to us by the Concord Patch.com shows that we have some of the best hospitals in New Hampshire.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center won high marks for Cancer, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Geriatrics, Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Urology.  A Hospital in the regional area that made the honor roll was Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn.

Just because Concord Hospital, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, and Catholic Medical Center are not on the list, does not mean they are not top-notch facilities.

The hospitals that get the highest rankings are those that rank high in certain areas of specialty care like regional referral centers.  Most people don’t need a top-ranked hospital to get the care they need.

Often, patients seek out hospitals like Wentworth-Douglass for a second opinion.

It’s nice to know we have one in the area.

According to patch.com, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is New Hampshire’s only academic medical center and its located in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
