If you like to take your motorcycle out for a spin when the weather is nice make sure your exhaust isn't too loud! According to WGME, Portsmouth Police will be monitoring the sound and if it exceeds a certain decibel you could face a fine up to $300.

My question was "how on earth will they be able to measure exactly how loud the pipes are?" They have purchased tools to do just that in hopes that this law will be easier to enforce.

I don't love when you are outside having dinner and a motorcycle goes by and it's so loud you have to cover your ears. However, I think a 300 dollar fine is a bit excessive.
