There’s a Lights-Covered Holiday Train Visiting Maine That Is Pure Christmas Magic
Have you ever seen the big holiday train that travels across Canada and into a few U.S. states?
If not, now’s your chance. The CPKC Holiday Train is heading out again soon, and this year it will make three stops in Maine.
Get ready for some festive fun.
What Is the CPKC Holiday Train?
The Holiday Train has been running since 1999, and it’s become a fun tradition for many communities. It’s covered in bright lights, travels to almost 200 towns each year, and helps raise money and collect food for local food banks, according to its website.
WABI reported that the train has brought in more than $26 million and over 5 million pounds of food since it first started.
This year’s lineup includes Smash Mouth, Barenaked Ladies, JJ Wilde, American Authors, and others.
Just note that the Maine musical performances will be by the James Barker Band and Clerel.
Where is the CPKC Holiday Train Stopping in Maine?
The Holiday Train will make all three of its Maine stops on Saturday, November 22.
It will first arrive in Hermon, stopping at the Coldbrook Road Railway Crossing. From there, it will continue to Greenville, where it will visit the Greenville Junction Depot.
The train will then finish its Maine trip with a final stop in Jackman, pulling in at 4 Walton Street.
The Holiday Train is a great event for families. You can check out the lights, explore the railcars, take photos, enjoy the music, and be part of a small-town community event.
