The Average Massachusetts Worker Makes This Much Per Year
Folks don't usually discuss their earnings with their co-workers, so it's not always easy to know if everyone is treated fairly in the dough-re-mi department.
You might think you are doing okay wage-wise, but your contemporaries might get paid better than you. Just the opposite might be true, too.
If you are wondering if you are paid what you believe you are worth, ZipRecuiter.com has some insider information to share.
"As of September 24 (2024), the average annual salary in Massachusetts is $65,935," ZipRecruiter reported. "That works out to be approximately $31.70 an hour."
The average wage "is equivalent to $1,267 a week or $5,494 a month," according to ZipRecruiter.
"Most salaries in Massachusetts range between $46,230 (25th percentile), to $84,265 (75th percentile) annually," the site reported.
The 10 cities in Massachusetts with the highest average annual salaries include, from the bottom up, Watertown ($66,351), North Scituate ($66,436), Wilmington ($69,462), Marlborough ($71,310), Somerville ($73,643), Burlington ($76,042), Boston ($81,050), Waltham ($81,128), Popponesset Island (Mashpee) ($83,113) and Cambridge ($85,8111).
Some of the top-paying jobs in Massachusetts include osteopathic doctor (($434,027), dental anesthesiologist ($460,562) and preventative medicine physician ($476,974).
Other positions, such as Uber driver ($38,429), pay less than the average annual salary. A licensed electrician ($76,931) could earn more than the state average.
Moving to Rhode Island might improve your annual earning potential. ZipRecruiter.com reported the average yearly salary in Rhode Island is $65,937, two bucks more than in Massachusetts.
