These Are the Top 3 Gas Station Pizzas in Maine
I never thought I’d be the kind of person who would get excited about gas station pizza, but here we are.
Maybe it’s because there’s something oddly satisfying about pulling in for gas, grabbing a drink… and walking out with a slice that’s way better than it has any right to be.
And apparently, I’m not alone.
After digging through what Mainers have been saying online, a few places keep popping up over and over.
The first one is Anthony’s Food Shop in York, and honestly, people don’t just like it, they rave about it.
It’s made with fresh dough, cooked in a wood-fired oven, and plenty of Mainers say it’s the best gas station pizza in the entire state. That’s a pretty bold claim, but judging by the reviews, it seems to live up to the hype.
Another favorite is Belfast Variety. Locals say if you’re making the trip, skip the slice that’s been sitting under the warmer and order a fresh pizza instead.
That’s apparently where the magic happens. And then there’s Lakeside Market in Waterboro, which gets a lot of love, especially for its breakfast pizza.
I’m a firm believer that breakfast pizza deserves way more attention than it gets, so this one immediately moved onto my list.
Now I’m curious… what am I missing? Is there another gas station in Maine secretly serving incredible pizza?

Because if that’s the case, I have absolutely no problem planning a road trip around a slice of pizza and a full tank of gas. Honestly, that’s starting to sound like a pretty perfect Maine day.
