2 Maine Restaurants Make OpenTable’s List of Best 100

The prestigious list of the country's "Top 100 Restaurants" for 2024 has two Portland, Maine restaurants.

MaineBiz says that the unbeatable duo of chef Sam Hayward and restaurateur Dana Street own both restaurants in Portland, Maine, on the OpenTable list.

Fore Street - Portland, Maine

Fore Street is one of the oldest restaurants in Portland. They've been around since 1996. It's a 'special events' restaurant. It is an expensive, delicious night out. They made this OpenTable list last year too. It has been winning awards and accolades since opening always making some best restaurant lists in the whole country! Fore Street averaged 4.9 stars by diners.

Scales is also owned by Dana Street and Sam Hayward with executive chef Mike Smith. This was one of the most anticipated restaurants when it opened in 2016.  I got lucky and walked in one day with a couple of friends on a Saturday night in the middle of summer at 6 pm looking for a table. We had no expectations of being seated, but we were walking and thought what the heck. We DID get seated and the hype is well earned. It was a pretty amazing meal. Scales averaged 4.8 stars by diners.

No one is more honest about a dining experience than someone who ate at the establishment.
