Don't worry. There's still plenty of summertime left in New England, but soon enough fall will be here. You know you've already seen the Halloween candy at the grocery store...
It's time to mark your calendars and make sure you get at least one last adrenaline-pumping ride on Dragon's Descent at Funtown in Saco or get drenched at Water Country's Tahiti Tree House in Portsmouth.
Autumn will sneak up on us, so we've got you covered for the final days of Maine and New Hampshire's best amusement and water parks for the 2026 season.
When Do the Amusement Parks in Maine Close in 2026?
Maine has some legendary amusement and water parks, including Palace Playland, Funtown, Splashtown, York's Wild Kingdom, and Aquaboggan.
It's hard to believe the 2026 season for many of them kicked off about three months ago, but it's looking like September will be the closing month for many of them.
Can you believe these places have been around for decades? It's almost 60 years for Funtown!
When Do the Amusement Parks in New Hampshire Close in 2026?
New Hampshire also has some top-tier amusement and water parks, including Canobie Lake Park, Santa's Village, Story Land, Water Country, and Whale's Tale Water Park.
Similar to the Maine locations, September seems to be the closing season month.
However, some of the spots, like Santa's Village and Story Land, both pushing over 70 years in business and still going strong, will have some select opening dates after summer ends.
