I suppose gravy can't make the list of favorite side dishes at Thanksgiving, as it's more of a topping, but man, do I love to pour it all over my entire plate. With the gravy season upon us, it's sad news that we say goodbye to a restaurant where the main focus was its signature gravy, during the season of gravy, nonetheless.

Gravy, originally established in Somersworth, New Hampshire, in 2020, moved their location to Wells, Maine, and offered home cooking at its finest while dining out. Their menu featured traditional items such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, and French fries, but with gravy...lots of variations of mouth watering gravy.

The menu selection was vast and featured such favorites as "Loafin Around", a bacon-wrapped turkey meatloaf topped with pickles, pickled beets, smoked Gouda, mayo, in a sesame seed bun.

For those of you who liked an extra kick, the "Southern Discomfort" was quite popular. This dish is created with their Creole Tasso gravy on Tennessee hot fried chicken with a buttermilk biscuit, pickled jalapeno, and scallions.

And who could forget the "Gravy Boat"? It was like a bunch of French fries swimming in a sea of their Turdecken Gravy with cheese curds, scallions and...Duck Confit? I had to look this one up. According to Food Republic, it's essentially the legs and thighs of a duck preserved in its own fat for extra flavor.

Customers loved the customization option choosing a meat or starch, and then having to decide on one of their signature gravies, which wasn't easy. It didn't end there, though. The final step was to add your toppings. Cheese, bacon, fried egg, and crispy fried Tobacco Onions were just a few of your options.

You could even get Gravy flights, which allowed you to try three of their signature gravies.

The owner of Gravy, Mark Segal, said in a social media post that his journey has been "incredible". According to Seacoast Online, Segal said that he has been purpose driven with gravy and a plan to figure out the his next chapter. We can all only hope that it includes gravy, lots of gravy.
