As the clock ticks towards Election Day, New Hampshire Democrats are pulling out a big gun: First Lady Jill Biden.

Dr. Biden is scheduled to campaign in Manchester at 1:45 p.m. with Sen. Maggie Hassan and gubernatorial candidate Dr. Tom Sherman. She'll then head to the Seacoast for a 4 p.m. stop in Portsmouth with Hassan, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, and Rep. Chris Pappas. The New Hampshire Democratic Party, which organized the stops, did not disclose the exact location of each stop.

"With New Hampshire Republicans running on an extreme agenda of ending Social Security and Medicare, overturning our elections, and enacting a nationwide abortion ban, Dr. Biden will help rally volunteers to elect strong Democratic leaders who will continue to fight to lower costs and protect a woman’s fundamental freedom," the party said in a statement.

The visits come as polls tighten up in the races between Hassan and Republican challenger Don Bolduc, and the First Congressional District face-off between Pappas and Karoline Leavitt.

An Emerson College Polling/WHDH 7 News survey shows a three point race between Shaheen and Bolduc, 48%-45% with 4% undecided and a margin of error +/- 3.6%. Hassan had an 11-point lead in the Emerson poll in September.

Gov. Chris Sununu maintains a double-digit lead over Sherman, 52%-40%, with 5% undecided.

The poll did not include the Pappas-Leavitt matchup, but an AARP poll in early September had the race essentially tied at 48%-47%, with a 4% margin of error.

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Leavitt during the weekend, calling her "fantastic" in a post on his Truth social media account.

The First Lady was last in New Hampshire in July 2021 when she visited Portsmouth International Airport, met with members of the New Hampshire National Guard, and thanked them for helping during the pandemic. She also attended a barbecue at the home of Stefany Shaheen, daughter of Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.
