Closing arguments will first be presented by attorneys in the case after the defense rested Tuesday afternoon after presenting 3 witnesses. The jury has heard 19 days of testimony in the trial of Mazzaglia who is charged with first degree murder for the strangulation death of UNH sophomore Elizabeth Marriott in October of 2012 in his Dover apartment.
The defense contends that Marriott died during a consentual sex act with Mazzaglia's then-girlfriend Kathryn "Kat" McDonough , who was the states star witness.
