2026 Kids Fishing Derby at Hood Pond in Derry, New Hampshire
It all begins Saturday, May 2, when the Derry Lions Club hosts its 36th Annual Kids Fishing Derby at Hood Pond, just a short walk from Hood Park. This long-running community favorite is free and open to children up to 15 years old, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and fishing kicking off at 8 a.m.
Trophies will be awarded across different fishing categories with other prizes and giveaways- including a 50/50 raffle.
Snacks and drinks, including water, soda, and chips, will be provided, and families are encouraged to bring a blanket, pack a lunch, and spend some time by the pond.
While the event is free, donations are welcome to help keep this community tradition alive.
2026 Kids Fishing Derby at Sal’s Pond in Sandown, New Hampshire
The fishing tradition continues on Saturday, May 2, just a short drive away in Sandown, NH. The Sandown Conservation Commission is hosting its Kids Fishing Derby at Sal’s Pond from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Children ages 2 to 15 are welcome to participate!
Pre-registration and pre-payment are encouraged to keep things running smoothly and limit crowds, making the morning as relaxing as possible.
