A 13-year-old Lewiston, Maine native named Emersyn Rowles is preparing for her 14th birthday on February 8th. But her 14th birthday won't be spent at her favorite bowling alley or restaurant, instead it'll be spent at the Boston Children's Hospital as Emmy goes through her fourth round of chemotherapy as she continues to fight a rare form of leukemia called MPAL.

Her family made a plea on social media recently, asking for birthday cards for Emmy as a form of inspiration to continue her fight. Not only is Emmy in a fight against leukemia, but she also has a rare disease called ataxia telangiectasia, which affects the nervous system, immune system and other body systems as well. Emmy is one of only 3 children in Maine diagnosed with this rare disease.

If you have a moment of time to send a card to Emmy (homemade cards welcome), here is her address at the Boston Children's Hospital.

Emersyn Rowles

Boston Children's Hospital

300 Longwood Avenue

6 NE Room 6202

Boston, MA 02115

Again, Emersyn's birthday is on February 8th and it does take a little time for the cards to make their way from the hospital's mail receiving department onto the floor of the hospital. Any card or well wish is appreciated.
