This Hidden Forest Retreat in NH Looks Straight Out of a Dream
After the year that I've experienced and not slowing down one bit, seeing this makes me want to slow down. I need this in my life for a spring weekend in New Hampshire.
It’s called Lumen Nature Retreat, and it’s one of those spots that makes you stop mid-sentence and go, “Wait… I wanna go here."
Let me paint the picture for you (or just look at the one above). You’re walking through the woods just as the sun’s going down. It’s quiet, like really quiet… and then you start to see these soft glowing lights tucked between the trees. Not in a cheesy way either. It feels intentional. Calm. Almost like the forest is lit from the inside out.
The main experience here is staying in one of these. Big windows, warm lighting, clean design… the kind of place where you instantly start thinking, “Yeah, I could unplug for a bit.”
And that’s kind of the whole point.

This isn’t a packed itinerary, go-go-go type of place. It’s more like… slow down, breathe, sit by the fire, look up at the stars, maybe have a conversation that isn’t interrupted by notifications every five seconds.
It’s also one of those spots that works for pretty much anything, a quiet solo reset, a weekend with friends, or even just doing something different that doesn’t involve standing in line somewhere.
And at night? That’s when it really hits.
The forest goes still. And you realize New Hampshire has a whole other side to it that doesn’t get talked about enough.
If you’ve ever said, “I just need a night away from everything,” this might be exactly what you meant.
