There is sad news to report out of Music City this afternoon as Billboard Magazine confirms the death of the legendary Lynn Andersen.  

According to the article, she had been suffering from pneumonia and passed away this morning in Nashville. She was born in North Dakota but raised in Sacramento California. She was an accomplished equestrian rider as well as one of the biggest female country singers of the 1960's and 1970's.

She had five number one songs but was best know for "Rose Garden". During her career, Andersen released 60 singles and had 18 top 10 hits, mostly on the Columbia record label. Her last single was released in 1989.
