Will they, or won’t they?

According to seacoastonline.com, Maine Gov. Janet Mills has a big decision to make.  Should she sign into law a ban on single-use plastic bags?

The news site reported that the Senate voted to approve banning of plastic bags, and it's now up to Mills to veto it, sign it, or let it become law.

Personally, I prefer to carry around my canvas tote for groceries.  I try hard every day to reduce my plastic consumption.  The beach is such a special place for me, I love looking out at the amazing ocean.  It makes me feel so small, the beauty and power of the sea should be protected.

We must take action on climate change.  Every small step we make is protecting the future of the planet for our children and their children.

This would seem to be a step in the right direction.

According to seacoastonline.com, "If approved, the Maine ban would take effect next year."

Will single-use plastic bags to the way of the Blockbuster Video? Will we look back at today from the future and not believe we wasted so much plastic?  Only time will tell.
