Here’s Proof that Maine Has the Most Talented, Daring, and Hilarious Drivers
I can't put into words how amazing this is.
Don't get me wrong, it's horribly dangerous and maybe a little scary. But it also proves exactly how savage Maine drivers are and, honestly, how we have little-to-no f**** to give.
Truly.
Because the sights I saw from Mainers behind the wheel within the last 24 hours -- and honestly, it's probably closer to 14 hours -- are absolutely mindblowing.
I almost want to tell the first thing I saw yesterday last, because it's just such a savage "IDGAF" move that I'm still shocked I saw it. But honestly, my undiagnosed OCD would hate sharing something out of order so here we go.
You know the section of Marginal Way in Portland that leads you to the Forest Ave intersection right near Bangor Savings Bank? I'm sitting at that set of lights waiting to turn right so I can hop on 295. No big thing, right?
Until I look in my rear view mirror and watch the driver behind me, in broad daylight so people can see into his car, bring a bowl to his lips and spark a hit. Right there. Behind the steering wheel. Out in the open in broad daylight.
SAVAGE. Definitely not smart. Definitely a little jealous. Definitely don't have the guts to do that myself. But savage.
Fast forward 14 or so hours where I'm driving back down 295 at this point. I don't remember which section of the highway I was on or around what town I was in. But I do remember looking over to my right to see whoever the woman driving the white sedan next to me was eating.
Now, that's nothing. We've all eaten while driving, generally with something that can be held in one hand while the steering wheel is held with the other hand.
But not this Goddess. Nope.
Because I'm not even exaggerating or trying to be funny when I tell you I looked over and in my quick glance, witnessed her holding what looked like a bowl of noodles in one hand and chopsticks bringing up a batch to eat with her other hand.
I truly don't know what to respect more -- her knee-driving ability or her pure dedication to morning ramen.
