Maine Man Killed in Scooter Crash

(Alfred, Maine) - Maine State Police say a Lebanon man died Monday afternoon in the accident on Route 202 Alfred.

81 year old Russell Faxon died at the scene of the accident after his scooter was struck by a car.

65 year old Laura Melisi of Acton was making a left turn into an ice cream stand and turned into the path of the scooter. Police say the scooter was behind a large box truck and Melisi did not see the scooter approaching.

Melisi and a passenger in her vehicle were not injured.
