Not only is the Coronavirus pandemic taking a toll on all of us mentally, it's taking a harsh toll on many businesses across the Pine Tree State. According to WGME, the Krispy Kreme shops in Auburn and Saco were permanently closed on March 27 by the franchise owner.

I vividly remember all of the excitement when they opened these locations. The people of Southern Maine were PUMPED and for good reason. Krispy Kreme's glazed doughnuts are the stuff dreams are made of.

We would have never expected that just two and a half years later they would be forced to close. I guess we need to start expecting the unexpected! I hope when this pandemic is behind us some of these businesses will be able to resurrect and open again.

Is there a restaurant you love that has closed because of this pandemic? Tell us about it in the comments section.
