There's something about fried chicken that makes people salivate like nothing else.

New Englanders love seafood, but also Dave's Hot Chicken, because spicy is so dang good.  I found out firsthand just how good this chicken with a special rub is, after doing a Dave's Hot Chicken Reaper Challenge.

Despite the heat factor, this chicken was some of the best I've ever had.  There are seven heat levels (from mild to reaper), so you custom order your level of heat (or none) for this Nashville Hot Chicken.  These are (big) tenders, not chicken wings.

Dave's Hot Chicken is a restaurant chain which started in California, with three guys in a parking lot.  They believed in the chicken, the sauce, and the spices they used.

The original creators of this special fried chicken came from very humble beginnings, and never gave up on following their dreams.  The artwork in the stores is not corporate, it's artistic, as the franchises have an L.A. flair.

The second Dave's Hot Chicken in New Hampshire will be at 1071 South Willow Street, Manchester, opening on Friday, January 26.  The other New Hampshire location is in Portsmouth.

As the company expands exponentially throughout the country, you'll soon find Dave's Hot Chicken everywhere.  In the first three years, Dave's went from two locations to 118, and has already sold 500+ franchise agreements, which are in the process of opening over the next few years, according to vettedbiz.com.

Former NBA star Kris Humphries has committed to opening 10 franchises himself.

There are no locations in Maine or Vermont yet, but they're working their way into every state, so don't be surprised.  Dave's already has international locations.

Here's the story of how they started.  It's inspirational. See you in Manchester soon.
