The city wide event scheduled for Saturday focuses on prescription drugs but will accept vaping products as the epidemic grows.

This Saturday is Manchester's bi-annual Drug Take Back Day/Shred-A-Thon, and for the first time ever, you'll be able to discard your vaping products.

According to their Facebook page, police will also provide shredding barrels, so you can properly discard your unwanted confidential documents.

They ask you limit one legal size box per family. The event will be spread over three locations.

Walmart - 725 Gold Street

New Hampshire National Guard Armory - 771 Canal Street

The Elliot Pharmacy at River’s Edge - 175 Queen City Avenue

Of note, vaping devices and cartridges will also be accepted. However, the DEA cannot accept devices with lithium batteries, per their Facebook page. Bordering Massachusetts recently declared a 'state of emergency' on vaping, temporarily banning the sale.

If you're not able to deliver the items, authorities will come to you. The Manchester Fire Department has offered to pick-up unwanted/unused prescription drugs for any disabled resident unable to drive. You can contact the Manchester Fire Department directly at 603-669-2256 to schedule a pick-up time.

Also on Saturday, police will offer food and beverages at a touch-a-truck event at Police Headquarters.
