At one point, there were 5 locations of the neighborhood corner store. Now, with the recent closure of the Newmarket store, only the Route 1 Hampton location survives.

After 107 years in business, Marelli's Fruit and Real Estate closed it's doors last month. The store, which was located on Main Street in Newmarket was owned by Louise Roy Gilbert since 2013.

According to Seacoast Online article, the last remaining Marelli's Market on Route 1 in Hampton has been in business for 103 years.

As soon as you walk into Marelli's Market in Hampton, you step back in time. It's truly a gathering place for the locals to sit and have a cup of coffee, while the kids' mouths water looking at all the candy and roasted nuts for sale.

Karen Raynes, a Marelli family descendant, co-owns the Hampton store with other family members and told Seacoast Online that there are no plans to close the location anytime soon!
