MWC Daily: ACM Awards Preview with Sam Alex of Taste of Country Nights

We had the opportunity to speak with Sam Alex, the host of Taste of Country Nights that you hear every weeknight at 7pm here on WOKQ/WPKQ. Sam and his producer, Amber are in Dallas gearing up for the 50th Annual ACM Awards. Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan (Bluke, as I like to call them) are back as hosts this year and the ACM's will be broadcast live Sunday night on CBS from the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

We asked Sam his thoughts on who he thinks might take home the big award of the night, 'Entertainer of the Year.' He thinks out of Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Florida Georgia Line - the trophy will go too...(I'm not going to make it that easy for you...you'll have to scroll down!)

Obama immigration order before court
Oral arguments are scheduled today before a three-judge panel which will consider whether to lift a temporary hold on President Barack Obama's executive action seeking to shield millions of immigrants from deportation. The appellate court is taking up the case at a special hearing but it's unclear when a decision will be announced.

Downing passes away
The Rockingham County Sheriff Department has announced the passing of Sheriff Michael Downing. Downing passed away early this morning after a brief illness. He was 60-years-old. Before being elected as Rockingham County Sheriff back in 2010, Downing was a member of the NH House and State Senate.

Maine permanently revokes fisherman's commercial licenses
Maine marine officials for the first time have permanently revoked a commercial fisherman's licenses. Maine Department of Marine Resources officials say they have revoked 33-year-old Lucas Lemoine's licenses after what they say is nearly 20 years of violations. Maine Department of Marine Resources Commissioner Patrick Keliher said Lemoine has shown a pattern of willful disregard of marine laws.
