( Concord, N.H. ) - N.H. State Police are warning the public about a phone scam aimed at seniors in N.H., Maine , and Vermont. The scam starts with a phone call claiming the recipient has either won the lottery or a new car. Victims are then encouraged to pay a transfer fee by purchasing a pre-paid money card, such as a GreenDot Money Pak Card or a Ready Debit Card at their local store. Police are reminding residents that legitimate organizations won't require you to pay to collect your winnings.
