New England Team Starts Title Defense A Day After The Super Bowl
After nearly 100 days off, it's time to get to work on keeping Boston "Title Town."
October 28th, 2018 the Boston Red Sox clinched their fourth World Series in 15 years, and ninth in franchise history. "Damage Done" indeed, as they finished with a 108–54 record. The record breaking season saw the team win the most games by anyone in the MLB since the 2001 Seattle Mariners won 116. Normally, a team with those statistics would be the toast of the town for years to come. I mean, championships don't happen every year in a city, right? This is New England. Hold our beer.
Yesterday, not only did the New England Patriots seal their record tying sixth Super Bowl victory, but the Boston Celtics and Bruins also won. Okay, now we're just stepping into humble brag territory. "Truck Day" is the symbolic kick off to the season. The nearly 1500 mile trip to Fort Myers, FL includes a few eye catching items. Like, 20 cases of bubble gum? 60 cases of sunflower seeds?
At any rate, welcome back, Red Sox. Play Ball!
