New Hampshire State Troopers Mourn Sudden Loss Of K-9 “Lola”
The New Hampshire State Police are honoring a fallen member of the force, who passed away suddenly. "Lola" of the K-9 troop.
News broke Wednesday afternoon on the New Hampshire State Police Facebook page. It is with a heavy heart that the #NHSP Canine Unit announces the passing of K-9 Lola. She was a Dutch Shepherd who was based in the area of Tamworth, and had been assigned to State Trooper Andrew Sheffer out of the #TroopE Barracks.
According to the post, Trooper Sheffer and Lola had been together for shortly more than five years, when they began their Police Canine career. Trooper Sheffer and K-9 Lola trained countless hours over a period of twenty-four weeks before being certified as both a Patrol and Narcotics Detection Team.
After Lola was certified, Trooper Sheffer and the Shepherd we’re involved in numerous K-9 deployments throughout New Hampshire.
