This is so exciting, I had to look into several sources to make sure it was true.  It is.  It looks like Costco is coming back to the Seacoast, but we'll have to wait for a while.

Remember when Costco WAS on the Seacoast?  If my memory serves me, it was on Woodbury Avenue in Portsmouth, but only for a short time in the mid '90's.  It closed for good.  Since then, I have shopped at other Costco locations (Nashua, NH and Danvers, MA) and yearned for the days that one would be close to my house.  Dream big, Sarah, dream big.  It's happening.

According to WMUR, the people from Costco met with the Newington Planning Board on Monday night.  They intend to build a Costco at the site that is now the soon to be demolished Fox Run Mall.

The store would also include a gas station.

Costco only has one other location in Nashua.  The others that are somewhat close to us are in Danvers, Mass. and Scarborough, Maine.

Here's What Some People are Saying About Costco in Newington

Almost every comment on the WMUR Facebook page was positive.  Some people wanted other things to go into that space, but there are going to be different opinions no matter what they put in there, but most people were happy about it.

The Newington Costco Will Not Open For a While

We, unfortunately, will have to wait for quite some time before the Costco opens.  The developers are looking at November of 2027 before they open their doors.
