Poet Donald Hall had a long life and a thriving career as a poet, starting at the ripe old age of 12!

According to NPR, over the course of  Hall's career, he wrote over 40 books, about half of which were poetry.

In 2010 he accepted a National Medal of Arts which is the highest honor for artists in our nation.

On Saturday, Donald passed away at the age of 89 in Wilmot, New Hampshire. He spent most of his life living in his farmhouse on Eagle Pond that had been in his family for four generations.
