A well-deserved police escort was given to a South Berwick man who had recovered from COVID-19, according to WGME.com . He had been hospitalized since March 27.

The news station repots that Pete Jardine was released from Maine Medical Center after battling this virus for weeks. He will continue to work on getting his strength back and will work on physical therapy while quarantining at home.

This is some great news. I love to hear of people who are recovering from this illness. The news gives us all some hope during this dark time.

The South Berwick Police Department gave him a police escort home for the hospital and a parade of well-wishers supported him on his ride home from their cars, according to WGME.

It’s all about keeping a safe distance these days.

Pete Jardine wants to thank all those wonderful staff that helped him in his recovery at the Maine Medical Center in addition to his wife and daughters.

According to WGME the community as a whole cheered him on, and I feel the love that New England generates for their fellow New Englanders.
