Direct flights from Portsmouth to Nashville will be available this spring.

According to a Facebook post from Portsmouth International Airport, nonstop service via Allegiant Air from Portsmouth to Nashville will begin May 27.

At the time of publication, there were still five seats left for $135 apiece to take an 8:56 p.m. flight to Nashville on May 27. The most convenient return flight was on May 30, which was scheduled at 4:45 p.m. and was set at $140 per ticket.

Prices, times and availability are all subject to change.

The announcement from Portsmouth International Airport comes just a couple of weeks after it had posted on Facebook asking folks which direct route they would like added in the near future. The options listed in that post were Clearwater (Florida), Nashville, Fort Lauderdale (Florida) and Charlotte (North Carolina).

The post received over 170 comments with folks chiming in on which destination they thought should be added. In the voting section, 79 votes were cast for Clearwater, 76 for Nashville, 22 for Fort Lauderdale, and nine for Charlotte.
