If you live on the NH Seacoast, there's no way that you don't know about Ray's Seafood.  Better bet is that you've been there many times over the years.  It's been a destination spot for families for over 50 years, according to their website.

Recently, on their Facebook page, there was a message on their sign that said, "Closed. Go Fund Me - Ray's Seafood Employees."  Fans of Ray's assumed that it was closing for good, however, it's not.

Ray's Employee Set Up Go Fund Me for Fellow Employees

The GoFundMe account was set up by a Manager in an effort to help the employees who do not have unemployment benefits anymore.  Ray's Seafood, however, wanted to make it clear that they are not affiliated with the GoFundMe on their Facebook page.  They intend to take care of the employees when they reopen.

Ray's also wanted to make it clear that although they haven't opened for 2026 yet, they intend to do so after they deal with "several unexpected issues."  PHEW!

Google says that Ray's Seafood in Rye is temporarily closed. so that's further proof that they will reopen as soon as they can.

The GoFundMe said it's been organized by Bruce Bellucci.  Here's a quote:

The funds raised through this campaign will help them pay for essentials like rent, groceries, and utilities, and will give them the support they need to stay with the company rather than seeking new jobs elsewhere.

The Restaurant Business is Really Difficult Sometimes

In these times of gas prices soaring, that affects restaurants everywhere.  If you add in other issues, that may create even more unforeseen problems.  My family comes from the service industry and it is really, REALLY hard on a good day.  Worth it, but hard.

I wish Ray's all the best and I'll be in line for a lobster roll and a view of the ocean when you open, no matter when!
