The New England Patriots may not be in the Super Bowl this year, but there will be a planeload of superheroes representing New England in attendance.

According to whdh.com, Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft is organizing the team’s plane to take 76 vaccinated health care workers, including four from New Hampshire, to the big game in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Gina Teixeira, who according to wmur is an emergency department nurse at Southern New Hampshire Health in Nashua, and Jenna Osborn, an ICU nurse at Catholic Medical Center.

Kraft says on the team’s website as per whdh.com, “Last April when our plane returned with masks from China, we never could have imagined the devastation the pandemic would cause. Ten months later, it’s an honor for us to celebrate these health care workers by giving them a well-deserved break for a day and an opportunity to enjoy the Super Bowl.”

The Kraft family is thrilled to be giving back to healthcare workers who have worked so hard for all of us during the pandemic.  They also hope this trip helps spread the word about the importance of vaccinations.

These healthcare workers certainly deserve a break after working tirelessly during the pandemic.  So, while we may not have players and superheroes on the field this year, we will have superheroes from each New England state in the stands.

I think it is such a great idea to raise awareness on vaccinations and such an honor to the hard-working health care workers in New England.  First, the team plane was used to bring us some much-needed PPE in the form of masks, now it will be carrying health care ambassadors to the big Game.
